Couldn't Resist

I saw this at hoopty's and had to share.

Go to Google. Type in "miserable failure" then hit the "I'm Feeling Lucky" button & see what comes up.

Thanks Hoopty!

Tops

Ever wonder what the top 10 words, names, phrases of 2003 were? Here they are.

The Best Laid Plans

I hadn't planned on spending all morning working on this blog. All I planned on doing was updating my comments code. Ha! I figured I'd take the easy way out & let YACCS do it for me (the automated thingy). Ha! I say again. It screwed up everything & I had to change things around because I could not get it back to the way it was. I was going to change it soon anyway, but I didn't want to do it today. Anyway, v3.0 of this blog is on its way. For now, I'll have to deal with v2.1. *sigh*

Do You Remember ...?

... body shirts? I think that's what they were called. In the mid- to late 70s they were the big thing. They were like onesies for women & girls. I liked 'em, actually, because I didn't have to worry about making sure my shirt was tucked in. Any product that gives me one less thing to obsess over is good.

My Nephews

We did the Christmas thing with my nephews yesterday. They are so cute! I could only afford one gift each for them this year, but they were all a big hit. The only PlayStation2 game Adam really wanted was Jeopardy!, which he got from good ol' Aunt Anne. We had fun playing it, too. I got Alex Kasey the Kinderbot & it didn't take him long to figure out how to get straight to the ABC song. It's his favorite song in the world. He's 2. (He'll be 3 in February.) I had such a good time watching him play & learn. Then there's Aaryn. He's 1 1/2. I got him a ride-on John Deere tractor that plays music if you push the right button. He loves music (He just walks around singing to himself. It's cute.) and found the button right away. He couldn't get the tractor out of the box fast enough. He loves ride-on toys. I'm happy that they all liked what I got them & that they all had a good time visiting. I wish I could see them more often. Oh yeah. lol Aaryn got new sneakers for Christmas. They light up when he walks & he just thinks he's the coolest thing on two feet now. lol I gotta admit he is pretty cool.

Just Thinkin'

The guy I'm in lust with has the best smile. Better than Ben Affleck. Better than Tom Cruise. Even better than George Clooney. That is saying something.

The Friday Five

1. What was your biggest accomplishment this year? My first novel, "Contempt of Court," was published.

2. What was your biggest disappointment? An ongoing legal problem has yet to be resolved (after 2 1/2 freakin' years!).

3. What do you hope the new year brings? Bigger sales for the second book than for the first. And ... well, I'll keep the second one to myself although it's the thing I want more than anything else.

4. Will you be making any New Year's resolutions? If yes, what will they be? Yes. I'm going to lose the rest of the weight I want to lose (I've lost 90 & only have about 40 to go. Yay me!). I'm going to try to not obsess over things as much. I'm going to try to be a better person.

5. What are your plans for New Year's Eve? Don't have any yet. Did I mention "stop procrastinating" as one of my resolutions? lol

I'm Back -- I Think

It's been forever since I posted here. There are lots of reasons for that. One reason is that the template for this blog somehow disappeared *shrug* Fixing it just seemed like too much trouble. It wasn't hard at all, I just simply didn't feel like doing it.

But I guess the main reason is I didn't know how to write about a few things that have been happening. Well, actually it's just one thing. The rest is easily explainable. This is not. The short and simple version is: Nick & I are not living together anymore. It's not that we fell out of love or anything. It's just that due to circumstances beyond our control, it's not possible for us to be together. We're still very good friends. I tell him everything. I even tell him about the guy I'm hopelessly in lust with.

Anyway, I'm hoping to keep up with this blog again. I really miss it. I need someplace to vent, after all.

Due to lack of interest (mine) and the length of time that's gone by since my last post, I'm not going to finish writing about the bus trip. Anyone who wants to know about it can e-mail me.

I have a few observations and odd thoughts to share:

Everytime I hear the promo for CSI: Miami, I think of that Will Smith song. Drives me nuts.

How long did it take the Trading Spaces people to find a gay designer with no personality? I didn't think there was such a thing. Edward must go!

Free CinnaStix rule! (You can laugh now, Nick.)

I'm pretty sure Tony Soprano's going to boink the FBI chick.

Does Ben Affleck know he's gay?

Ann-Margaret is still a babe, but she sure was hot in Viva Las Vegas!

I'm concerned about my new Elvis obsession. (Thanks Nick)

Um. I think that's it for now. Back to the novel. I hate editing. I don't believe I used to do it for a living.
